About Us

Already a trusted part of the team, Caleb Ray has been chosen to lead Roxbury Holiness Camp. Caleb has been in various leadership positions at Roxbury Holiness Camp over his five years of service and has an additional 10 years of construction background several of those running his own business.

Caleb’s education is in church ministries where he is joined by Samantha, his wife. Samantha has her Masters of Divinity in Youth and Family Ministry. She has chosen to shifted her attentions and focus to partnering in Caleb’s leadership at the camp and home schooling their sons. They have two sons, Gavin & Henry, who love camping and riding on the golf cart with Dad.

‘I look forward to leading along side the rest of the staff that is here,’ Caleb said. ‘My goal is to continue the legacy of excellent service the camp provides. With the help of cabin owner partners, donors and the rest of the RHC community, I look forward to many years of great ministry and service at Roxbury Camp.’

She also helps plan special events and keeps the Commons beautifully decorated. Of course, you’ll find her most often in the kitchen, where she spends some very long days, especially during the summer camp season. We are very thankful for all the hard work Michelle puts into making sure our guests have amazing food to eat! Michelle has received multiple perfect kitchen inspection reports from the PA Department of Agriculture. She enjoys running in her free time.

Michelle spent most of her childhood in Bolivia, South America where her parents were missionaries. She was saved at age four under a banana tree and later was baptized in the Manopari River. She came back to Pennsylvania to attend high school and college. It was in college where she met her husband, Dave. They have now been married for more than 30 years, have four sons, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter and another on the way. Michelle is looking forward to watching and visiting her sons as they transition into their adult lives.

Heather works hard each week to make sure that all of the calendars are in order. She coordinates reservations and contracts for our guest groups as well as handling the scheduling for the camp staff.  On the weekends she can frequently be found helping out in the kitchen, or conspiring with Michelle on decorations for the next programming event.

Heather’s home is in the UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan. She spent many years as a youth pastor and working with Youth for Christ before coming to Roxbury in 2018. She enjoys Civil War History and spends a lot of time in Gettysburg learning. She also enjoys scrapbooking, knitting, and traveling to National Parks. However, her favorite thing is COFFEE!! It is a rarity to see her without a cup or pot of coffee in hand. She is also excited that her parents have finally retired so they can come visit her more often.

Although they are “sort of” retired, you won’t be at the camp long without spotting Dale or Linda. They continue to serve as not only the backbone, but the wisdom of the camp staff. Although they each bring a knowledge about how camp and camp meeting things are done, it is the encouraging words and the endless willingness to serve that are Dale & Linda’s most valuable gift they give to the camp and it’s staff.

Linda works in the camp office; while Dale handles the camp’s technical maintenance, such as sewer treatment, plumbing, electrical and appliances. Linda can most often be found in the office, but Dale could be anywhere on the grounds. Linda’s favorite places at Roxbury are the prayer garden and prayer chapels.

Dale and Linda say that working at Roxbury has taught them to be better servants. Serving God and serving others has been a lifelong practice for them as they have served in ministry in Michigan, Africa, Kansas, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Pennsylvania. They began their journey together in the Michigan church where Linda grew up and Dale’s father had come to serve as pastor. They have three married children and 6 grandchildren. The future will probably mean more time with their family as they can see an end to their formal work lives in the coming years. (But they’ve been saying this a long time!)

Tom comes into the office once a week to handle the things that most people run from: numbers and money. Tom works hard to keep all of the books in order, pays the bills, and makes sure that all of the numbers line up. Tom plays a very important role here at Roxbury Camp.

He loves the Civil War, history, and Gettysburg. He enjoys taking longs walks around Gettysburg and finding monuments that he has not studied before. He enjoys reading books about the Civil War. He and Heather often have conversations on Tuesday mornings about their latest Civil War discoveries and adventures around Gettysburg. He has been married to his wonderful wife, Jennifer, for 36 years. He says they are still waiting to have their first argument. He has a daughter who is a CPA. He also enjoys golfing and riding his motorcycle when the weather is nice.

Will joined the Roxbury team in August of 2021 and has been helping teach the new guys maintenance basics at the camp. Precision work is what Will is good at, so a lot of the painting, landscaping, and other detail work has been done by Will in the past months. Boy does the camp look great for it!

Will and his wife, Jackie, have three children. His oldest daughter, Kimberley, lives in Texas with Will’s three grandchildren and her husband. Will enjoys spending time with his twin brother, Wally, at Shenandoah and on other adventures. He worked at Mount Rock Dairy for 23 years prior to coming to the camp.

Will enjoys the time he spends in fellowship with the staff and the comradery we have to work together to meet the needs of the guest groups. He enjoys maintaining the grounds and keeping the place safe and ready for our guests.

Lydia has been with the camp for many years and is beginning to take on some solo breakfast responsibilities. She enjoys working up recipes and adding down home flare to meals.

Lydia and her husband, Jr., have four children, one of whom, Damaris, works alongside her at the camp for weekend food service. Lydia is active in her church, often in the food preparation area as well as with the Homeschool cooperative she belongs to where she helps plan events for the teens and children in the group.

Lydia enjoys traveling with her husband who drives a truck often long distances. She likes to see beautiful scenery and for them to spend time together.

Evan has a strong constitution and a big shoulders – he had to as the only Eagles fan in a swarm of Steelers diehards. Evan has a long history of camping ministry both here at Roxbury where he two generations before him have partnered in ministry by owning a cabin at the camp, and at Kenbrook Bible Camp where he served for two summers.

Evan enjoys all kinds of Philadelphia sports and just graduated with a BA in Physics. Before coming to the camp Evan was a substitute teacher for six months. Family life has been abundant for Evan as part of a family who has provided a home for foster children for many years. Evan likes to say he has 64 brothers and sisters.

When he’s not watching sports … or sometimes when he is, Evan enjoys cooking outdoors over the fire and grilling. We are excited to have Evan as part of the team.

Growing up at camp, it was an easy transition from attending to working here for Jennifer. She has taken her place alongside Michelle and Lydia as the leaders in the kitchen where she dutifully reminds us of all that she learned during her ServSafe Certification.

Jen has recently graduated and lives with her family where she loves to play with her dog, read, spend time with her Grandparents and cook. She is an active member of her Chambersburg Mennonite Youth Group where she learns and serves.

In the past year Jen has taken on a variety of roles at the camp in addition to her food service responsibilities including some housekeeping and office help. We love having Jen around and hope to see her as a full-time part of the staff in the near future.
