LIFE

I was watching a documentary about animals not long ago, and it said that the male Monarch Butterfly lives long enough to take an arduous journey from the place of its birth in northern portions of North America thousands of miles to rainforest regions in South America and mate. The males then die, their purpose in life fulfilled. The females carry their precious cargo back north and start the cycle again. It made me sad at first to think of that journey being their whole life, but life for all creatures on the Earth is a journey. The Monarch knows his purpose and commits his whole life to it.

What a picture for a life spent following Jesus. Knowing what our purpose is and committing our lives to it. As we meet, eat, adventure, and question together at this year’s Young @ Heart Retreat we will be discovering LIFE!
