Renovations on Cabin 31 Well Underway Thanks to RVICS
For three weeks in September the hum of diligent workers was being heard from Cabin 31. Badly in need of an upgrade, Cabin 31 has well on it’s way to having a new life. The four gentlemen, Steven, John, Steve and Bob, over came antiquated wiring, suspicious building practices, and a whole lot of dirt and dust to transform the cabin.
When the group arrived the project sounded much smaller than it actually was. Walls emptied of the poor wiring were soon filled with a better system, and then the crew put up drywall and finished the connections. Bit by Bit, the cabin began to transform, the walls taking shape, signaling that Cabin 31 is on it’s way to a makeover.
The ladies of the group spent their time in the cleaning and refreshing work of painting several places on the grounds. They began by removing the dusty old mirrors and curtains from Cabin 31. A couple days of cleaning in Cabin 31 was enough to leave the men and set out on their biggest project: painting the camp gazebo. The ladies, Joyce, Cathy, and Cyndi, didn’t stop there. They then meticulously sanded and cleaned the trim and doors in the Berean Center to prepare for fresh paint there as well. The Berean Kitchen got a good clean and reorganization by the ladies while the trim got it’s last coat of paint.
It was a true blessing to have RVICS with us at Roxbury again. Please join us in praying for these servants as they move on to new projects and just life.
